As the leaves begin to turn and the air becomes crisp, we at Brush Creek Service and Therapy Dog Center are gearing up for an exciting and heartwarming season. Fall in Oklahoma is a time of transformation, and we are thrilled to be part of it by continuing our mission to serve veterans, first responders, and the community.
Bringing Smiles to Nursing Facility Residents
Recently, we had the pleasure of visiting a nursing facility in Northern Oklahoma with two of our beloved therapy dogs, Archer and Gia, both German Shepherds. The residents lit up with joy as these gentle giants made their rounds, offering comfort and companionship. These visits are a testament to the incredible bond that can form between humans and dogs, and we are honored to bring such positive energy to those who need it most.
Exciting Upcoming Events
We have several exciting events on the horizon that will allow us to connect with the community and spread awareness about the importance of service and therapy dogs.
Retirement Day at Fort Sill Army Base: We’re excited to have a booth at this event, where we’ll be showcasing our work and engaging with veterans and military personnel. It's a great opportunity to share how our service dogs can make a profound difference in the lives of those suffering from PTSD.
Mental Health Day with Devon Energy: Mental health is a critical issue, and
we’re proud to be part of this event by setting up a table and discussing the role of service and therapy dogs in supporting mental health. Our presence, along with our dogs, will help highlight the therapeutic benefits of these loyal companions.
Car Show in Blackwell, Oklahoma: We’re looking forward to making an appearance at this event with our service and therapy AI Created Image
dogs. It’s a chance to mingle with car enthusiasts while also raising awareness about our cause. Plus, who doesn’t love a good car show with some friendly dogs?
Looking Ahead
As the weather cools, we’re eager to get out and about even more. Fall is a fantastic time of year, and it’s perfect for connecting with our community. We’re currently working with a few owner trainer veterans, helping them train their dogs for service work. Additionally, we’re on the lookout for a service dog prospect for one of our clients, ensuring we continue to meet the needs of those we serve.
A Special Visit from Friends
We were recently visited by our friends from Wisconsin, and it was a joy to share time with them and their service dogs. One of the highlights was dining together at Freddie Paul’s Steakhouse in Stillwater. The service dogs, were, as always, the perfect dinner companions, demonstrating their impeccable training and the strong bond they share with their handlers.

As we move into this beautiful season, we’re filled with gratitude for the continued support of our community and partners.
